This post is specifically for our amazing High Tide adult and student volunteers BUT everyone is welcome to listen in!
Part of our commitment to the volunteers that feel passionate about pouring into the next generation at Cypress is to offer them resources that feed their souls and fill them up spiritually so they can bring their best to this ministry!
The leadership topic for March is Conflict Resolution...enjoy!
Make plans NOW to send your student to our 2010 summer trip called BigStuf! Remember, a $50 deposit is due on Sunday, March 28th to reserve your spot. This trip has been one of the highlights of my time at Cypress. It is combination of high-energy worship, world-class communicators, and community building experiences that will change the life of your student forever. But that's just my opinion. Here's what some of the kids who went last year had to say about it...
"Eye opening teachings, rocking worship, amazingly spiritual experience, and fun pranking our leaders." - boy, high school senior
"Life-changing. I have never felt the Lord's presence in my life like I did while we were there. It got me back in touch with the reason I follow Jesus Christ." girl, high school senior
"It was awesome! You have thousands of students praising God and the best teachers in America and it definitely stirs up something in you that if you put yourself with the right people and spend time with God the flame will keep burning!" - boy, high school senior
Total cost of the trip is $400...here is your cost breakdown...
April 4th (Easter SUNDAY) - $50 deposit to save your spot
May 16th - $250 to finalize registration
July 19th (DEPARTURE DAY) - $100 for meals during the trip + anything additional you'd like for spending money
Sunday night was the 2nd week of THE Cause. There are a lot of causes to get excited about these days but if we forget THE Cause of Christ nothing else matters! Don't forget to be challenging yourself this week to step outside your comfort zone and reach out to the people God has placed in your life! All it takes is one step, one question, one act of kindness to open the door to a relationship that might impact someone's eternity!
In addition to all of that we played a game I won't even bother explaining...I'll let the pics do all the talking...
This month's "Film that makes you say hmmm..." will be Rob Bell's "Everything is Spiritual". To ensure that we have lots of time for discussion afterwards (you know, before you all pile in your cars and head to Jimmy John's prior to High Tide), we will be starting the film promptly at 4pm. So be extra spiritual and don't be late.
Remember, that's Sunday, February 28th, in Studio 4:12 at 4pm (sharp). See you there!
I'm still not sure if someone is pulling my leg or not, but I've recently been told that the NFL season doesn't end when the Steelers lose. Apparently they keep playing the season despite the absence of the world's greatest football team and lots of people get together to watch. Seems pointless to me, but I guess any reason to have a party is a good one, so if you want to watch these two nobody teams play what apparently is an important game to those fans who haven't experienced 6 super bowl championship seasons, then come join us at the church at 6pm and bring a snack or drink to share. I'll see you all there (assuming, that is, that this isn't some elaborate ruse that Jan dreamed up to get me to go to the church when high tide is cancelled - I mean, did you see those ridiculous looking horse pictures she posted below - who dey?)
Just wanted to pass along the trailer for our next "deep" film viewing. If you haven't heard, we are planning on making these viewings a once-a-month occurence in response to the cool feedback we got from "Collision" and "To Save A Life". So bring your thinking caps and join us in the Studio 4:12 conference room this Sunday at 4pm.
